We hope to answer regular questions about renting bikes here.

  • Do you have bikes available?


    We have hundreds of bikes, July and August are peak season when stocks availability can be a problem. We advise that groups of 5 or more and families with children should contact us to check availability before visiting our store at any time of year.

  • Do you provide a lock and lights?


    Yes, it is crucially important to lock bikes here in Cambridge, with so many bike users it is easy for thieves to take advantage. Lights are a legal requirement after dark so every bikes has them. If you can’t see the bike then it should be locked, even for a few minutes. There are plenty of public spaces to lock bikes around town.

  • Is buying a bike a better option?


    Generally not, it’s not just a bike that you need. You would also need a good bike lock and some lights at the least so consider those additional costs first. Plus you’ll have to pay for repairs to your bike when it goes wrong, and that an be expensive. Selling a bike when you are finished with it isn’t easy either as there is a surplus of used bikes in Cambridge. We cover all of those costs with a rental and you don’t have the trouble of finding a new home for the bike when you leave just return it to us and we will refund your deposit, putting money back in your pocket.

  • What size bike do I need?


    We have a range of bike sizes bike and will find the right one for you on arrival at our shop.

  • How can I pay?


    We accept cash or all major credit/debit cards except American Express for rental fee’s. Deposits (£40) are preffered in cash as it make finishing the rental a quick and easy process.

  • What should I do if my bike developes a problem during my rental?


    You should return to our shop as soon as possible and we will repair the bike while you wait.

  • Do you deliver?


    We no longer deliver bikes in the interest of sustainability.

  • How long can I rent a bike for?


    We can rent you a bike for just a few hours or any period up to 1 year.

  • Where is your shop?

  • Do you have Insurance?


    You can find details of insurance cover that we offer on the Rental Info page.

  • Do you hire or rent accessories such as Helmets and Panniers?


    Helmets are not mandatory in the UK but we understand that you may want to use one so they are always available for hire. If you need a basket to carry some items (4KG’s max) we’ll simply fit one to your bike when you hire. Panniers would be a special requirement to accompany our prearranged touring bikes only so please contact us in advance for terms and conditions for these rentals.

  • What kind of bikes do you have?


    We stock City/Trekking and urban sports bikes for men and women. Children’s bikes. Tag-a-longs and Child seat’s are also available but please contact us in advance. All of these options are available to use in and around Cambridge under our standard terms and conditions. Specialist bikes for planned longer rides such as cycle touring can be arranged if you contact us for a tailored booking in advance.

  • How can I contact you?


    Contact us by phone for an efficient service and we can discuss your query with you. Alternatively you can fill in the form on the Contact page and we’ll get back to you.

  • Do I need to leave a deposit?


    We do ask for a secure deposit of £40 (cash preffered) with your rental fee to take a bike. It’ll be refunded back to you when the bike is returned.

    We are a MONDAY to FRIDAY service ONLY. Bikes are ready to go so it's as easy as visiting our store filling out a form and paying your rental fee. BIKE RETURNS MUST BE DURING OPENING TIMES.
