Adam, Our thanks for supplying two great bikes with panniers and helmets for our self-guided 750 mile, 3 week trip in May. Penny and I cycled around Norfolk (Broads were the best), Suffolk, (it reached 30 degrees), Essex (loved Brightlingsea) and all around Cambridge- a good trip was out to Swatham Bolbeck, back via the Cam. Anyway, the 18 speed bikes went very well-had the best seats we've encountered and we've done this type of hol 4 times before. Our only suggestion is to consider changing the tyres as the tread kept picking up small stones from recent road repairs. We had a wonderful holiday in UK and met lots of helpful and nice people. Delivery
City Cycle Hire can deliver Bikes for pre-booked groups of 10 people or more only. Making individual deliveries within the center of Cambridge we have found can be problematic due to the high levels of traffic conjestion in the city, this is something we would not want to contribute towards.
Also, we can be certain that customers coming to our shop will have a correctly sized bike, all the accessories they would need and we can offer a range of payment options. You would need to consider the refundable Deposit for instance.
Open Times
Monday to Friday: 9.00am-5.30pm.
Saturdays: 9.00am-5.00pm. (from Easter through the Summer until the end of October)
Sundays: Not open.
Bank Holidays: Open except Christmas day, Boxing day and New Years day.
Terms of Hire
All of our bicycles are maintained by professional mechanics and therefore are hired to you fully serviced. If during your stay in Cambridge you have any problems with your bicycle, which are a result of mechanical failure we will repair it for free as part of the service. You must bring the bike for repair at the first available opportunity.
Damage Liability Cover protects our customers against additional charges in the event of Collision, Vandalism and any Damage that may be caused during the period that they are responsible for the bike.
The cover must be taken at the time the Bike is hired out by us. This is done by ticking 'YES' on the bottom of our customer form and paying a small fee depending on the length of hire.
This Policy protects the customer against charges for bent Wheels, Frame, Handlebars, broken Lights, Locks, Mudguards, Pedals and Gear levers ('Broken' means that we are unable to use this item for hire again).
Lost or Stolen items and Bikes are not covered by this scheme. The customer will loose their deposit if the bike is not returned.
If the customer fails to return any accessories provided then they will be charged according to City Cycle Hire tariffs..
We do not operate a call out or recovery service for bikes with punctures.
City Cycle Hire aims to keep the cost to all customers to a minimum and provide an efficient reliable service.
Please don't assume by our name that we only Hire or Rent Bikes. Infact we always have plenty of new, used and ex-rental Bikes available for sale at the most competative of prices. All the Bikes we sell are fully serviced to a high standard and come with a garantee.
We would suggest you come to see what is currently available and test ride any Bike that interests you.
